Seongsu Station, we have 4 skin diagnostic devices: How we analyze skin

Hello, this is Dr. Kim Dong-hyun from Sio Clinic in Seongsu Station.

I often tell patients in the consultation room:

"Expensive analysis equipment doesn't always guarantee good results." You might find it strange for a doctor to say that, right?

In fact, good equipment is available in almost every clinic these days.

However, deciding 'when, where, and how much' to use that equipment ultimately comes down to the depth of the diagnosis.

Today, I would like to share why Sio is so dedicated to analysis devices, to the point where it might seem a bit unusual.

Sio Clinic, the reason we have 4 analysis devices instead of just one

I believe in 'subtraction'—selecting only what is absolutely necessary for the patient.

The more data I see, the more I can identify the direction, such as "Oh, this person needs hydration more urgently than a lifting procedure," or "This person's muscle structure is unique, so I need to change the injection angle for Botox." That is why Sio examines the skin very meticulously using 4 different analysis devices.

Sio's '4-Way Dimensional Analysis'

Connecting skin data

1. Mark-Vu: Mapping the skin

Even if it looks like a simple blemish to the naked eye, Mark-Vu reveals whether it is deep melasma or shallow pigmentation.

We look at the contours of the face to find areas that need lifting or volume procedures.

We map out the direction in which pores are sagging and identify the true cause of redness.

2. Moisture Meter: Checking the skin's foundation

What happens if you apply a strong laser to someone whose skin is severely dehydrated?

It can cause problems. We check the moisture levels in different areas to see if the skin is in a condition to withstand the procedure first.

3. Ultrasound: Checking the internal skin structure

We see skin thickness, muscle movement, and fat layer depth in real-time, which are invisible from the outside.

"Where should I pull for the most natural look?" "Where is the safe place to inject while avoiding blood vessels?" We perform procedures by checking with our eyes rather than relying solely on the sensation of our fingertips.

4. Vascular Scanner: Checking circulatory health

We identify where unhealthy, dilated blood vessels are concentrated. Knowing areas with poor circulation in advance is a great help in reducing bruising or swelling after the procedure.

When these 4 devices come together, they create not just simple numbers, but a 'skin insight'.

For example, a customer came in because their face was sagging. Usually, one might immediately recommend a lifting laser, but our 4-way analysis showed that their skin barrier was severely damaged and they lacked moisture entirely. In this case, replenishing moisture is more important than an expensive lifting procedure. Only then will the lifting procedure be effective later on.

This is the power of comprehensive diagnosis as I see it.

Sio's philosophy on skin at Seongsu Station

I believe that whether it's Botox or a lifting procedure, it is "designing facial expressions." To do that design well, the underlying data must be perfect.

For those who have visited many clinics and wondered, "Is this right?", I will clear that up with Sio's 4-way analysis system. When there is certainty provided by data, both the patient and I, as the practitioner, can achieve the most satisfying results.
