[Ttukseom Sio Clinic] Botox for Forward Head & Rounded Back: Maintaining a Comfortable Posture Over Forcing It

[Ttukseom Sio Clinic] Botox for Forward Head & Rounded Back,

Maintaining a comfortable posture

rather than forcing it

Ttukseom Sio Clinic::Rounded Back & Forward Head Botox

Hello, this is Ttukseom Sio Clinic.

In our clinic, many patients

struggling with forward head posture

or a rounded back

often ask a common question.

I try to straighten my back,

why does it keep hunching over again?

After working at a monitor

all day long,

before you know it, your shoulders

roll inward and your neck

juts forward,

making you sigh every time

you look in the mirror.

Why does a hunched posture feel more comfortable?

Many people with

rounded shoulders or a hunched back

are well aware of the fact

that their posture is hunched.

While you can maintain

a correct posture for a moment,

you soon revert to

your habitual posture.

Posture is not created by bones alone.

Muscles around the neck, shoulders,

chest, and shoulder blades

exert force in different directions,

and depending on the balance

of that force,

what feels like a comfortable

posture changes.

If certain muscles act

more strongly than necessary,

you have to resist that force

every time you try to straighten up,

which can easily lead to fatigue.

That is why at our clinic,

rather than saying "straighten your back,"

we first examine why that posture

feels comfortable.

Rather than explaining forward head posture

solely through lifestyle habits,

it is necessary to examine

the muscle tension and movement patterns

around the neck and shoulders together.

The reason for selectively

adjusting muscle force

Botox is used in various

medical fields to control

the force of muscles that

contract excessively.

When applied to a hunched posture,

the goal is not to force

the body to straighten out.

After evaluating posture and movement,

the key is to selectively lower

the force of overactive muscles,

creating a more comfortable environment

to practice good posture.

During the consultation, we check

your standing and sitting posture,

the position of your neck, shoulders, and shoulder blades,

how much your shoulders are rolled,

and what muscle patterns appear

when you move your arms.

If necessary, we use ultrasound

to examine the location, thickness,

and depth of the muscles.

Since the neck, shoulders, and back

have multiple overlapping muscles,

the process of examining the actual

muscle layers is helpful.

This approach is different from

injecting a set dosage into

predetermined points.

This is why we observe how you stand

and move before deciding

where to inject.

Not for correction, but to practice

new movements. Botox for a rounded back

is not a treatment to correct

the structure of the spine.

A hunched posture can have

various causes, including not only muscles

but also skeletal structure, joints,

lifestyle habits, and muscle strength.

If structural issues are the

primary cause, it is difficult to

resolve with Botox alone.

Therefore, Botox is not necessary

for every hunched posture.

In fact, among those who have

experienced the procedure,

some say that a hunched posture

now feels uncomfortable, leading them

to straighten up naturally, or that

maintaining a good posture for a long time

is more comfortable than before.

They often notice functional changes first,

such as feeling their shoulders open up a bit

or feeling their upper body straighten naturally

while walking.

The goal of Botox for forward head

and rounded back is not for the injection

to create the posture for you.

It is to help you shift from

‘a posture you try to straighten’

to ‘a posture where being straight is comfortable.’

In that process, it is important to

repeat and become accustomed to

new movements.

Only when necessary, as much as necessary

Ttukseom Sio Clinic aims to

identify the causes and muscle movements

that create the posture

rather than the hunched posture itself.

We believe that not performing a procedure

if it is not necessary

is also part of medical care.

If your neck and shoulders

frequently lean forward due to

forward head posture,

and you quickly return to your original posture

even when you try to straighten your back,

we hope you do not think of it

simply as a matter of willpower.

The same applies to how we view

forward head posture.

While Botox for a rounded back

cannot be the same answer for everyone,

it can be one option in the process of

examining current movements

and finding an appropriate method.

If you are considering Botox for a rounded back,

please first check the cause.
